J. Timothy Delaney
Investment Consultant

Tim joined Pillar in 2008 after four years as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Analyst at Lowell, Blake, & Associates. In these roles, Tim focused on constructing all-cap equity portfolios for high net worth individuals and institutions. Applying traditional value methodologies, he specialized in creating and utilizing both qualitative and quantitative proprietary fundamental research. Prior to that, Tim served as a financial planner at North American Management Corporation where he was part of a team that provided comprehensive planning for a large family office.

Following his graduation from Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in international business and politics, Tim began his investment career as a precious metals commodities trader for AIG Trading. There he specialized in structured deals between central banks across the globe and Fortune 500 companies. Tim holds a Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University and a Master of Science in Finance from Northeastern University.

He returns every year to the Northeastern College of Business Administration to address Master’s degree and undergraduate students on portfolio construction, stock analysis and other financial and investment topics.

At Pillar Tim oversees the firm’s investment research efforts and coordinates all research related activities. Tim applies his expertise in the areas of asset allocation and asset class modeling, investment policy creation and due diligence on investment managers and mutual funds. Tim is a member of Pillar’s Investment Committee, which consists of the senior members of the firm and establishes the firm’s investment philosophy, asset allocation policies and implementation in client accounts.
